Shane Record has strong ties with The Church Street Project, a registered charity providing Art Therapy and Therapeutic Counselling to children in Shepway.

Over the last three years Shane has coordinated three fundraising projects.
The first, a raffle, offered locals the chance to commission his 100th painting since coming to Folkestone as any view of their choice.
The second, The Bigger Picture Project, saw one of his pictures being cut up into 100 pieces, sold to and recreated on a larger scale by local businesses. This year’s project was the first Folkestone Sandcastle Competition – and it is hoped that the fundraising competition will be held every year on Sunnysands beach.

So far, Shane’s initiatives have raised nearly £5000 for The Church Street Project, although the raising of the unit’s profile through these activities has lead to significant separate donations, far greater than the fundraising revenue itself.
